I have had the pleasure of being a member of our
River Mill Academy Family for almost 17 years. I
attended Appalachian State University, The University of
North Carolina at Greensboro and Campbell University. I
earned degrees in English and Communications and a
Master’s degree in Communication with a Concentration
in Family Studies.
As a new "empty nester" I spend my free time with
Bleu and Grizzly (spoiled rotten Aussiedoodle and
Australian Shepherd fur-babies). I was blessed to
become a Granny this past year and love spending time
with the cutest little boy ever! I am also earning my
second Master's degree from Campbell University (Go
Camels!).
My four children were blessed to attend River
Mill Academy. Brittany graduated from Wake Forest
University with degrees in Statistics and Anthropology and
and her MBA from Wake Forest School of Business (Go
Deacs!). Grey earned a degree in Criminal Justice and his
MBA from Campbell University (Go Camels!). Avery is
currently pursuing his undergraduate and MBA from The
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Go Heels!).
Nataley is pursuing her undergraduate and MBA from
Clemson University (Go Tigers!). River Mill has definitely
been influential in shaping their success.
In addition to Language Arts, I teach 6th Grade Social
Studies and a Reading Challenge Elective. I believe in
our school. I believe in our teachers and staff. I believe
in our ability to educate students and prepare them for the
world. I can’t wait to start the new school year and
see where our adventure takes us.
