Book Fair

The Scholastic Book Fair will start next Friday 3/24 and go through Friday 3/31. The parent night (hotdog supper) will be Thursday 3/30. 

Each grade level is asked to send in the following:

Kindergarten-            Hotdogs (300)

1st grade- Some money for chili and slaw, A few bottles of ketchup, Mayonnaise, relish,  and mustard, 200 plates, A couple of packs of napkins and Dum Dums           

2nd grade - Buns (300) (wait until the week of to send them in so that they will be fresh)

3rd grade- Individual chips (300)

4th  grade- Individual desserts (300)

5th grade- About 200 can soda (diet and regular)

We have plenty of water  and some soda thanks to the PTT and leftovers from the fall festivalJ

 

***If some has a gas grill and a way to get it here to cook hot dogs that is needed as well.

 

If you have some small items (like happy meal toys ) that I could use for the prize box (the kids love winning a prize with the dum dum tree) if you could donate those as well.

 

 

We need volunteers to help with:

  1. set up the bookfair on Thursday  3/23 from 11:30-2:30, (could use 2 more people)
  2.   Run the  bookfair everyday ( I need  at least 2 people at a time)

    3/24 Friday 8:30-11:30 (3 people)

                    11:00 to 1:00 (need 2 extra people) Because this is the Grand lunch day and we will be very busy for a couple of hours

                    11:30-2:30 (3 people)

    3/27 Monday 8:30-11:30 (3 people)

                    11:30-2:30 (3 people)

    3/28 Tuesday 8:30-11:30 (3 people)

                    11:30-2:30 (3 people)

    3/29 Wednesday 8:30-11:30 (3 people)

                    11:30-2:30 (3 people)

    3/30 Thursday  8:30-11:30 (3 people)

                    11:30-2:30 (3 people)

    3/31  Friday 8:30-12:00 (3 people)

                    11:30-2:30 (4 people to close up the fair starting at 12

  3. Parent Night/Hot dog supper (we need about 9 people to help in both the media center and with the supper)

    Set up 3:30-5:00 and they the event is from 5 to 8pm

  4. Clean up the bookfair starting at 12 on Friday 3/31 until about 3pm

 

If you can volunteer your time please email wstewart@rivermill-academy.org and I will put you on the schedule.  If you send in food items- your child’s teacher will get them to the media center. Please put your child’s name on the items so that I can give you volunteer credit.  You get a volunteer hour for each item sent in.

 

Thank you so much for making this bookfair a success every year! Last year we received over $5700.00 worth of books from Scholastic!!
