What's Happening in the Classroom

Math:  Students are busy working on related math problems. They are finally recognizing math facts and understanding that you can solve problems multiple ways (counting up, counting back, using number lines, drawing pictures).

Sight Words: Continue to study all sight words each week. Here are a few ideas: make flashcards, download sight word apps, use magnetic letters/playdough to spell out sight words, cut letters out of magazine to make words, use letter stamps to write out words, type words on a computer/laptop, etc.

Writing: We are focusing on 3 complete sentences on a topic. The first being the topic sentence, second being a detail, and the final being a wrap-up or closing sentence. Students also need to use correct capitalization, punctuation, and spelling of sight words.
