Clip Chart Color Explanation:

Pink (Amazing!) - The student has surpassed expectations throughout the entire day.
Purple (Great Job!) - The student has done an excellent job of following rules and expectations/
Green (Ready to Learn) - The student behaved in the expected manner, potentially with some off-task behavior.
Orange (Teacher's Choice) - The student has caused multiple distractions for themselves and/or others, or has been off-task repeatedly. An email or call home may occur.
Red (Parent Contact) - The student has refused to do work, caused distractions, and made other poor behavioral choices consistently throughout the day despite many warnings and opportunities to improve. Parents will be contacted to work out a solution to addressing this behavior.

Students have stringent expectations placed on them during the day. This is to facilitate a better learning environment. Although I do not like being strict, during the beginning of the year, it is better to be strict than too lax. Thank you for your understanding.

Classroom Mission:

The mission of our classroom is to promote a diverse learning environment for the children. One that fosters cultural respect, develops critical thinking skills and inspires the motivation needed to become a self-directed learner.

Homework will be assigned on Monday and due on Friday. Homework consists of math, spelling and reading. It is paramount that students complete and turn in their homework on time, as each night of homework is worth one grade.

Please do not try to complete the entire week's worth of homework in one night. The purpose of homework is to give students consistent, additional practice.
