Read Across America

Twenty years ago, the National Education Association decided to do something BIG to get kids excited about reading. They called it NEA’s Read Across America. Launched and celebrated annually on or around Dr. Seuss’s birthday, March 2, it was—and still is—the largest celebration of reading this country has ever seen. River Mill Academy will celebrate Read Across America with special events throughout the week of February 26 - March 2.

Monday, February 26 - "One Fish, Two Fish" Day
wear red & blue!

Tuesday, February 27 - "Fox in Socks" Day
wear crazy socks!

Wednesday, February 28 - "Green Eggs & Ham" Day
wear green!

Thursday, March 1 - "Thing One & Thing Two" Day
dress as twins!

Friday, March 2 - "The Cat in the Hat" Day
wear a Seuss shirt!

Special Events:
Door/Bulletin Board decorating contest
Guest readers will be visiting elementary school classrooms
Special Dr. Seuss birthday snacks
Daily Trivia for students in K-2 and 3-5, prizes to winners
