April 27 - May 1

Monday April 27, 2020

We are going to do something a little different this week.

1. Check email for links to a review of radians.

2. You will write a biography of a mathematician who was important to the field of mathematics in the last 200 years. I have made a list of suggested names of mathematicians who would be good subjects of a biography. You will see from the list that mathematicians have come from all parts of the world and all walks of life. You are not required to choose a name from the list. You may have a different name in mind. The person you choose may be alive or dead but should be an important  mathematician who lived in the last 200 years. I want to focus on more recent history because we tend to know only a few names of mathematicians such as Pythagoras but there has been amazing advancement in mathematics in the last two centuries. And mathematics has led to amazing advancement in many fields.

April 20 - April 24

Monday April 20, 2020-Click on the link in an email for an assignment reviewing the Law of Sines and the Law of Cosines. Remember that when we are trying to solve a right triangle, we use SOHCAHTOA to find the measures of the length of a side or the degree of an angle when we have been given the measures of the other sides and angles. The Law of Sines and the Law of Cosines are for when we are trying to solve non-right triangles-triangles that do not have a 90 degree angle.

Wednesday April 22, 2020-Attached is a worksheet containing notes and practice questions about Law of Sines and Law of Cosines. Have it completed and the links I assigned Monday by the end of the day tomorrow, Thursday 4/23.
