8th Grade

Monday, May 11th-
Please complete at least 2 Read Theory quizzes. Then, please listen to Ch. 53-54 of The Maze Runner. (You Tube link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFcFmS05Hqlo-D7xyVLF9AA)

Below is how I will enter a Read Theory grade on Friday. This is based on your program average grade level, not on the specific grade level of the quiz you are on.

9th grade level and above=100

8th grade level=90

7th grade level=80

6th grade level=70

(and down by increments of 10)

 

Tuesday, May 12th- Please complete at least 2 Read Theory quizzes. Then, please listen to Ch. 55-56.

 

Wednesday, May 13th- Please complete at least 2 Read Theory quizzes. Then, please listen to Ch. 57-59.

 

Thursday, May 14th- Please complete at least 2 Read Theory quizzes. Then, please listen to Ch. 60 through the end of the book!!!

 

Friday, May 15th- Please complete at least 2 Read Theory quizzes and answer the following questions on a Word document. Please be detailed in your answers. Email these answers once you are finished.

  1. What do the Gladers plan to do to try to escape the Maze?
  2. What happens to Alby? Please explain in detail.

  3. When they arrive in the Griever hole, what happens that almost makes readers think Thomas and Teresa won’t succeed?

  4. What happens to Chuck? Please be detailed. Explain the circumstances, who was involved, etc.

  5. What do the Gladers find right outside the maze? Describe the people, the setting, etc.

  6. Who “attacks” the Creator compound, and what do they do with the Gladers after the attack?

  7. How has Thomas’s relationship with Teresa evolved during these chapters?

  8. What is the strange twist at the end?
  9.  What were your impressions of the book now that you know how it ends? Did you approve of the ending? Would you recommend this book to somebody else? Why or Why not? 

6th Social Studies

  • Monday, May 11th- Please study slides 33-44 of the Medieval Times PPT. Take some time to work on either your castle OR your coat of arms. The directions for these are located on slide 19 and 25-30.

  • Tuesday, May 12th- Please study slides 45-65.  Take some time to work on either your castle OR your coat of arms.

  • Wednesday, May 13th- Please study slides 66-86. Take some time to work on either your castle OR your coat of arms.

  • Thursday, May 14th- Please study slides 87-End of the PPT. Finish your castle or coat of arms. Take a picture of it and email it to me.

  • Friday, May 15th- Optional Zoom Conference at 11am. If you would like to pop in, we can

  • go over confusing segments of the Medieval Times PPT, I can cover Medieval

  • Torture devices, and we can say goodbye for the summer I’ll miss
